Catch A Birdy Told Me So Live — Kellie Haines Hits Two Western Canada Showcases This October!

It’s a big month on the road for Kellie Haines! This October, Kellie is bringing A Birdy Told Me So her multi-media musical ventriloquist show to two major showcases in Western Canada, and she’d love for presenters, programmers, and booking agents to stop by and say hello. Kellie also performs other musical ventriloquist shows for outdoor stages, theatres and schools. Just ask!

Whether you’re booking for a school district, a theatre season, or a festival lineup, this is the perfect chance to see what all the buzz is about and chat about bringing the show to your community for the 2026/27/28 season.

Kellie is a professional ventriloquist and puppeteer seen on APTN’s Kokum & Dot — who has performed thousands of shows in theatres and schools, headlining children’s festivals throughout BC, northern, and western Canada. She’s also represented Canada at VentFest and Vent Haven in the United States.

About A Birdy Told Me So

A Birdy Told Me So is a musical ventriloquist show for theatres, schools, and festivals. Eight-year-old Kellie doesn’t feel like she fits in — until she receives a gift that talks on its own! She meets Magrau, a chatty puppet who makes people laugh, and when Magrau signs them up for the school talent show, Kellie is mortified. Magrau’s advice? Never give up! Along the way, Kellie learns that success is like learning to ride a bike you’re going to fall down a few times, and that’s okay.

Packed with original music, interactive moments, and Kellie’s signature ventriloquism, the show runs about 45-50 minutes and is built around K–7 curriculum, with plenty of room to flex for festival and general family audiences too. It’s already opened to rave reviews at the Vancouver International Puppet Festival and toured extensively across BC, northern and western Canada.

What Presenters Are Saying

“Kellie Haines is a wonderful comedienne, singer, and ventriloquist. As a festival director of the only ventriloquist festival in the world, it’s pretty obvious that I believe in Kellie Haines’ talent — I believe that you should too.”
— Steve Withem, Festival Director, Ventfest, Spencer, Indiana, USA

“The children and the adult audience were intrigued and they had a lot of fun. I think your skills as a ventriloquist are outstanding… I don’t hesitate to recommend this show.”
— Stephanie Fischer, Executive Director, Capitol Theatre Nelson
